Katerina Gevetzi

Katerina Gevetzi is a dancer, a graduate of the Higher Professional School of Dance "Niki Kontaxaki" and the SEAD Academy (Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance). She has also studied Classical Literature at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. Based in Vienna until 2015, she worked for two years with Flowmotion Dance Company and Transitheart Productions, as well as with the Berlin National Opera under director Philipp Stölzl and choreographer Mara Kurotschka. In Greece he has worked with: Maria Koliopoulou, Mariella Nestora, Sania Stribakou, Antigoni Gyra, Athanasia Kanellopoulou, Kosmas Kosmopoulos, Ermira Goro, Willi Dorner, etc. She has participated in festivals such as Athens and Epidaurus Festival, All Greece is one Culture, MIR Festival , ARC For Dance, Music in Motion, as well as in festivals of the Onassis Foundation ( Fast Forward Festival, Dancing Athens, I Dance Festival ), Michael Cacoyannis Foundation ( Greek Choreographers Festival ), the Biennale and the Municipality of Athens. She teaches contemporary dance in schools and studios in Athens and is a lecturer for educational artistic programmes, such as the Co-OPERAtive programme of the Educational and Social Activities of the National Opera of Athens. She is involved in inclusive dance within the organization Artogether ( Art for People with and without Disabilities), where she coordinates workshops and choreographs for the Kinetic Improvisation Group. In recent years she has also been working in theatre as a choreographer. She has worked with directors such as Argyris Xafis, Kostas Papakonstantinou, Sofia Karagianni, Thanasis Megalopoulos, Rubini Moschochoritis, Phoebus Simeonidis etc.
