The pilates method focuses on proper balance, control, breathing, flow of movement and concentration. It is a method that exercises the whole body and focuses on both strengthening and flexibility. It strengthens muscle groups but especially the core muscles which are important for proper posture and overall health.

This class aims to stabilize the joints, strengthen the whole body, greater range of motion, recovery from injuries or other conditions, orthosis and develop awareness when performing movements. In addition, it is recommended for stress management and improving the psycho-emotional state of the individual, increases energy and has functional application in everyday life.


No previous exercise experience is necessary to attend the course. The course is delivered with variations of the exercises depending on the personalized needs and level of the trainee.

Anna Maria was born and raised in Athens. She graduated from the professional dance school ''AKTINA'' and studied at the department of Interior Design and Object Design. As a dancer she has collaborated with Peter Juhaz, Judith Sanchez-Ruiz, Nikos Kalogerakis, Betty Dramisiotis, Angeliki Stellatou, Christiana Skiadas, Effie Goussis etc. She teaches classical and contemporary dance as well as improvisation to children and adults. She has attended seminars in Contact Improvisation, Forsythe repertoire, Pina Bausch, Trisha Brown, Hofesh Schechter, Gaga, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique etc. in Greece and abroad. She has edited movement for actors and has participated in the Athens festival, in short films as a performer. At the same time she has been involved with the Pilates method, completing her training at the Basi Pilates Academy in collaboration with NYSY studios. In recent years she has been working as an instructor in Pilates studios and physiotherapy centres and deepening her knowledge with seminars and specializations (pre post natal, pilates for injuries and pathologies, pilates for dancers etc.).
