Fall and Creation

Εργαστήριο Τεχνικής σύγχρονου χορού + Αυτοσχεδιασμού

Σε αυτό το εργαστήριο θα εργαστούμε πάνω:

- Στις διαφορετικές ποιότητες και την τεχνική της πτώσης και στο πώς η δράση αυτή δημιουργεί και διαμορφώνει την κίνηση. Μεταμορφώνοντας την σχέση μας με τον χώρο, τον χρόνο και τα συναισθήματα, δημιουργώντας δραματουργία, βοηθώντας μας να ξεπεράσουμε τον φόβο της πτώσης, φέρνοντας ελευθερία και ροή,  διευρύνοντας το κινητικό μας λεξιλόγιο.

- Σε scores/ συνθέσεις αυτοσχεδιασμού, εμπνεόμενοι επίσης από την τεχνική των Viewpoints και τα Βall games, ως μια διαδικασία καλλιέργειας, μιας ενεργητικής και με συγκέντρωση παρουσίας, στις παραστατικές τέχνες και ευρύτερα. Και θα εμπλουτίσουμε τα εργαλεία μας για σύνθεση και δημιουργία νέων logics/χορογραφιών.

Το εργαστήριο αντλεί έμπνευση από τη φύση, από το contact improvisation, την αθλητική αναρρίχηση και την τεχνική του body mind centering.

Contemporary dance technique + Improvisation Workshop

Saturday 22.06.24: 16.00-20.30

Sunday 23.06.24: 10.00-14.30

In this workshop we will work on:

-The nuances and technique of Falling and explore how this action informs and profoundly shapes movement. Transforming our relation with space, time and emotions, creating drama, helping us overcome our fear of falling, bringing freedom and fluidity, expanding our movement vocabulary

-Improvisation scores, inspired also by Viewpoints technique and ball games as a process to achieve focused and energetic presence in performance and enrich our tools for synthesis, creating new logics/choreographies.

The workshop draws inspiration from nature and also from contact improvisation, sport climbing

and body mind centering technique.

We will be very happy to have you with us in this creative journey.

Artist's bio

Emmanouela Korki studied dance from an early age and she acquired her dance diploma from Rallou Manou professional dance school. She also studied theatre at the professional drama school of Athens- G.Theodosiadis and Yoga at the International Sivananda Centre in Poland. She has also attended many dance- theater seminars in Greece and abroad with Carol και Lucy Hanis, T.Ralli, K.Baka, M.Dramisioti, E.Malkotsi, E.Korfia, E.Topalidou, E.Skoti, J.Hamilton, Jurij Alschitz, Seoljin Kim, K.Sumako, C.Castellucci, S.Mauragani, P.Huguet, M.Karava, E.Chrisovitsinou, L.Farr among others. This year she had the joy to study with E. Berland and W.Beavers -Somatic Training and Viewpoints. Also she has attended Climbing and Mountaineering courses with G.Theoharopoulos, G.Voutiropoulos and A.Asimakopoulos.

She is co-founder of Moon10productions, a non-profit Arts and Outdoor education company. With her collaborator A.Mande, they create and teach (experiential learning -outdoor education) in Greece and abroad, combining the arts of dance, theater, music and climbing, aspiring to connect people and protect the natural environment. In  2023-24 they participated in the European training programmes “Climb Into Youthwork“,“Recharging Youthwork”,“ Expedition Skills”, “ Seeds in the Snow: Winter Artistic Collaborations for a Shared Future” in Poland and in Spain, collaborating with Lernlabor and Logos organisations.

She teaches contemporary dance, improvisation, ballet and yoga. She has collaborated with many studios and schools and she also loves creating/teaching outdoor workshops, as in Tinos, in collaboration with M.Kritikou- School 1&2,  in Leonidio,“Let’s swing” in collaboration with E.Danesi- Innerscapes Festival, in Eleusina in collaboration with Attic School of Ancient Drama- Baumstrasse and in Filopappou Hill "Interweavings: on Bodies, Memories and Landscapes” in collaboration with A.Papageorgiou/Mouries collective.

Her choreographic work researches the relations between movement, sound, materials and nature. In her work “Περί Έρωτος- About love “ based on Plato’s “Symposium” in Altofest- Naples/UrbanDig, she brings together diverse environments and texts. As a dancer, performer she has been collaborating since 2005 with Nostalgia company-T.Ralli, G.Simona and also with C.Badeka, Ohi paizoume company -E.Alexiou, G.Sahini.,K.Baka, M.Dramisioti, M. Frintzila, E. Parginou, A.Marathaki, V.Kotsalou, H.Monteiro, G.Karounis, S.Hatzakis. In cinema / video dance she has collaborated as performer and stunt with P.Voulgari, S.Tzoumerka, M.Barrena, R.Ostlund, Α.Boleslavsky, V.Dima and J.Chowdhury among others.
